Deciding the best time of the year to visit Australia can be quite daunting - with its vast landscapes and territory, where does one even begin? Fear not, you're in luck - thanks to our expert's insider knowledge, we can tell you just when it is best to visit this amazing destination!
Australia's weather
Welcome to Australia, where the weather is as diverse as the country itself!
Basking in a whopping average of 2,800 hours of sun per year, Australia is, without a doubt, a sun-seekers paradise. From the Red Centre's deserts to Queensland's lush rainforests, there's no shortage of places to bask in the warmth and escape the unpredictable British weather.
But with such a vast landscape and diverse climates, it comes as no surprise that temperatures vary significantly across the country, with hot summers in the north and milder climates in the south, meaning that the season to visit depends entirely on which regions you are looking to visit.
So, if you're in the early stages of planning a visit to Australia, and you're looking to learn more about the varying seasons, then read on, we'll tell you just which seasons are the best!
Spring
Springtime in Australia is like nature hitting the refresh button, so picture this: sunny days, blossoming flowers, and adventures waiting around every corner.
And having lived in Australia for so long means that we also know - and can tell you - that it is a blooming season to visit, as you'll witness the outstanding regions and attractions without the crowds.
One of our favourite places to visit in spring is the southwest of Australia to witness first-hand the desert flowers in full bloom - one of nature's most striking displays of resilience even in the harshest of conditions.
Spring is also one of the best seasons to visit other parts of the Southern Territory of Australia, such as Sydney, Kangaroo Island, Canberra, and Margaret River.

Summer
We know that summer in Australia is probably the most famous season, thanks to the popularity of places such as Bondi Beach and the films and series filmed on the many incredible Australian beaches.
And here at TravelEssence, we totally understand the appeal - the sun, the sea, the Aussie vibes - are all best enjoyed with a BBQ on the beach - all you have to do is pick your favourite out of the 10,000 beaches available.
If you are looking to visit Australia in summer, then you've come to the right place, as we know just how to get you to enjoy a fully immersive Australian experience - even in peak season.
So pack your sunnies, a hat, your flip-flops (or thongs as they're known in Australia), and the all-important sunscreen - we're taking you on a sunny adventure down under.

Autumn
To us, this is one of the best times of the year to visit this majestic country as the temperature is just right. And we know this because we're locals!
Autumn is without a shadow of a doubt, an incredible time to visit Australia's many regions, while it isn't likely you will see it all in one go - unless you are travelling for a year - most regions are not only accessible in autumn, but there are far fewer crowds around, and the cost of accommodation and attractions is far more appealing!
Wine lovers will know that this is the ideal time for a visit to Barossa Valley and for sampling the many locally produced, world-famous wines Australia is known for.
But autumn is also a season of transformation and exploration; as such, most of the national parks and mountain ranges are primed for a hike and a trail. That is why we recommend visiting the Cradle Mountains, the Grampians, and the Blue Mountains at this time of the year.

Winter
With such vast territory, it isn't surprising at all that even in winter, there are many regions that are still perfect for a visit. The Northern Territory and Queensland, due to their closeness to the Equator, are still basking in fairly amenable temperatures, even in winter.
Due to its amenable temperatures, winter is also the perfect season to visit the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef as you witness the breathtaking sights and explore the world's largest living ecosystem.
This time of the year also makes for a perfect time to visit places such as Kakadu National Park, Brisbane, the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and the Sunshine Coast.
So, if you're dreaming of an adventure down under, then get in touch - we know just how to make the best one ever!
