A thrilling jet boat ride to the Bridge of Nowhere

Venture into a true outdoor Kiwi experience at Whanganui River Valley. Located in the central North Island, this region is brimming with hiking trails, rivers, valleys, mountains, native forest and birds.

The Whanganui River is 290 kilometres long, making it the third-longest river in New Zealand. It flows from Mount Tongariro National Park out to the Tasman Sea on the West Coast, nestled beside rolling landscapes and forests. The local Maori regard the river as a living ancestor, and in 2017 the waters were granted human rights.

Experience a thrilling jet-boat ride on the Whanganui River. You will journey 32 kilometres upriver to Mangapurua Landing. Venturing through deep river gorges covered with lush native forest. With your local guide, you will learn about the rich history of the region.

During the tour, you will take a walk to The Bridge to Nowhere, built-in 1935. Following the footsteps of pioneers who settled here after WWI. You will also have the option to canoe 12 kilometres back down the river, which takes approximately two hours.
