Hike the Queen Charlotte Track - solo

In the heart of the Marlborough Sounds, at the very tip of the South Island of New Zealand is a 72-kilometre hiking track. The Queen Charlotte Track is a multi-day hike that can be completed in four or five days. Discover the ever-changing landscape of native forest, skyline ridges, secluded bays and coastal views with your local guide.

Your adventure begins with a cruise through the Marlborough Sounds by catamaran. Ship Cove is the historic starting point. Rich in Maori history, several tribes lived in the region and searched for food in their unique way. In the 1770s, Captain James Cook also visited Ship Cove.

Over the next four days, you will be treated to unique, contrasting views. Each night, enjoy a well-earned rest, staying at different lodges with great food and wine. Along the way, your guide will share their knowledge of native plants, seabirds and marine mammals.

Keep a lookout for dolphins swimming through the clear blue and green waters and for the iconic cheeky weka. A native flightless bird that is often seen along the track. You will finish this spectacular hike in the harbour of Anakiwa.
