Go solo and hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing

In the heart of the North Island in the Central Volcanic Plateau. A natural wonder with three active peaks - Mount Tongariro, Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Ruapehu. Tongariro National Park is the oldest national park in New Zealand. A place where you can find natural hot springs, mineral lakes and alpine meadows.

This is where you will conquer the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Known as one of the best day hikes in the world. Your journey takes you into the UNESCO World Heritage Site, hiking between Mount Tongariro and Mount Ngauruhoe. On a clear day, you might even be able to see Mount Taranaki on the far west coast of the North Island.

Be entertained by old lava formations, natural springs, volcanic craters, emerald lakes, valleys and native forests. You will be joined by an experienced guide and a small group of fellow hikers. The 19-kilometre hike takes approximately 7 hours to complete, which means a good fitness level is required.
